To celebrate our 150th year of supporting Texas firefighters, SFFMA is compiling a commemorative yearbook. And we want your department to be included! We would love to get your department's story, history, and what's happening today.
To ensure we can meet our printing schedule, please send us your write-ups and photos by: August 15, 2026.
Write-ups (~200 words) and photos - ideally one historical and one current - can be submitted digitally to info@sffma.org. Please use the email title '150th Yearbook Submission'.
Please send photos as either .jpg or .png files, not embedded in a Word file or PDF.

Texas volunteer firefighters now have insurance coverage through Provident. This policy includes a death benefit, impairment benefit, income protection and a first responder assistance program (FRAP). |

Sleep is one of the biggest health threats in the fire service. Help is needed to study this issue and your voice really does matter!
The SHIFT Study (Shift Scheduling and Sleep Health in Firefighters) is a FEMA-funded national research study led by Dr. Sara Jahnke examining how sleep and behavioral health impact firefighter safety, performance, and long-term well-being.

Life does happen, so SFFMA realized that at times records may go missing due to various reasons. In those instances we recommend the following method to re-credit an individual's training.

This spacious room at the SFFMA office can be used for meetings, trainings and other purposes.
The room holds 50 people and the configuration can be classroom or theater style. An air wall in the middle offers a way to have breakout sessions.
