SAFER Grant Funding Can Help Your Department
Funding may be available through the SFFMA SAFER Grant! Visit our website to learn more* and find application forms.
 
*Departments are welcome to submit requests for PPE, physicals, and training; however, please note that funding for these items will not be available until Year 2 of the SAFER Grant, which begins on December 23, 2026.

Submit Your Department's History for the 150th Yearbook
To celebrate our 150th year of supporting Texas firefighters, SFFMA is compiling a commemorative yearbook. And we want your department to be included!
 
DEADLINE EXTENDED! Write-ups and photos are due May 31, 2026.
 
Write-ups (~200 words) and photos can be submitted digitally to info@sffma.org and please use the email title 150th Yearbook Submission.
 
Sales will begin during this year’s June conference in Waco where we will take pre-orders for books. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to be part of SFFMAs history!

New Benefit from Provident through the SAFER Grant
Through the SAFER Grant, Texas volunteer  firefighters have insurance coverage through Provident. This policy includes a death benefit, impairment benefit, income protection and a first responder assistance program (FRAP).
 
The Provident insurance covers* all volunteer classes of membership, including but not limited to a Volunteer Member, Emergency Volunteer, Auxiliary Member, Fire Corps, Community Volunteer, Board Member, Trustee, Administrative Personnel, Junior Member, Member in Training, Probationary Member, and Part-Time Employees of the Policyholder.

*Benefits are provided while acting on behalf of the fire district and are a covered activity. Runs through December 22, 2029.
